hi- i am thinking of visiting Ireland in early november, but am very much interested in visiting grand gardens. will this be a disappointing time to do this. surely they will be a different gardens than in spring. should i plan otherwise? thanks for your help

Mmm. November and gardens is not a wonderful mix I'd have to say. Not a lot is growing and few gardens are looking anything like their best at that time. In fact quite a few open only from April/May to the end of October so there are some you would not be able to visit at all.

If you really are interested in gardens I'd rethink November if at all possible. Assuming you want to avoid the high season, May would be a good month - you get the last of the Spring and the beginning of Summer plants - or September when many of the Summer plants are still in flower and the beginning of Autumn is bringing its own colour.
