My wife and I are staying in Ballyvaughan for 4 days w\a car. We know we will visit the Cliffs of Mohr and the Burren. There are so many things to do I need assistance picking a few. We do not want to try to see everything, we would prefer to do a few things and really be able to enjoy them rather than rush from place to place. I would really appreciate some ideas and suggestions. Thank you.

You are lucky to have such a good amount of time around the Burren. It's a place a lot of people only have a day, or less, to see, and while what they see is great it is only scratching the surface of a place that is complex and full of interest.

With the time you have I would definitely set aside a day to do a walking tour of the Burren with an expert guide. Walking around the Burren, rather than looking at it from a car, is a totally different experience, and especially so in the company of someone who knows every crevice. Heart of Burren Walks and Burren Walks are both small local companies and their guides were mostly born in the Burren and know it intimately.

I don't know if you've seen it, but we have a Burren Tour Itinerary, which is put down as being a day but in fact would be better spread over 2 days, with time to linger and take little detours. It's intended to be a tour from Galway and then either back to Galway or on to Ennis, but if you look at the map you'll see it actually makes two big loops from Ballyvaughan - which is marker L on the map.

In your case, with the time you have, you could easily extend the coastal loop of that tour and take in Loop Head as well, and include a trip to Scattery Island.

You can also get ferries from Doolin to the Aran Islands, so a day there is another possibility.

I hope this gives you some ideas. You'll love that part of Ireland, it's wonderful.

I have been told that The Burren Parfumery is very cool if you interested in herbs/wildflowers/soaps and things.

My wife are planning a trip for Sept 24th through October 1st.

Is this a good time to visit?

We want to rent a car and drive and stay in no more than 3 places. Gallway being one

We're flying into Dublin

DO you have suggestions for an itinerary with medium priced lodging?

Thanks

Tom

I am planning on coming to Dublin in November for 6 days. Could you suggest an itinerary both in and out of Dublin?

disdonc,

Katherine's guide to Dublin along with her Three Days Around Dublin and One Day Wicklow Tour will be just about perfect for your upcoming trip in November.  The weather may not cooperate completely which is why having 6 days to explore these nearby places is perfect!

Safe travels,

Wendy
