Ireland's Cost of Living & some Property Bargains!
Mercer have just produced their annual Cost of Living survey, which compares how much it costs to live in various capital cites around the world. Dublin came 16th, still well behind London in 2nd place, a little behind Paris in 13th and just barely less expensive than New York.
Here's a quick look at some of the comparisons they make:
| Dublin | London | Paris | New York | Sydney | Moscow | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cup of Coffee | €3.00 | €2.95 | €2.30 | €2.85 | €2.08 | €4.64 |
| Hamburger Meal | €6.50 | €5.75 | €6.20 | €4.33 | €3.84 | €3.65 |
| Music CD | €20.00 | €19.18 | €19.95 | €13.23 | €14.84 | €18.85 |
| 2 bed Luxury Apartment (rental, per month) | €1200* | €2952 | €2000 | €3037 | €1547 | €3037 |
Now most of that looks pretty on the button - but a luxury apartment in Dublin for an average rent of €1200 per month? In your dreams!
