A relatively new course, first opened in 1992, which has gathered numerous accolades in it's short history, Carne Golf Links is located among the sand dunes at the edge of Blacksod Bay near Belmullet in Co Mayo.
Build in a wild, beautiful and ancient landscape the course designer, Eddie Hackett, disturbed the environment as little as possible when creating the course. There are magnificent views over the Atlantic to the islands of Inis Glóire and Inis Géidhe.
Visitors are welcome and there are reduced green fees for those playing in the early morning. An excellent clubhouse has changing facilities, a bar and restaurant and well stocked golf shop.
The Ireland Golf Tour Operators Association voted Carne course of the year in 2005.
