The brown trout season traditionally kicks off in earnest with the Duck-fly hatch in March, followed by the Olive-fly and May-fly hatches in April and May and the Daddy and Grass-hopper hatches in July and August. The much-prized Atlantic Salmon can be caught on the fly on Lough Corrib, (licence required), especially between Clonbur and Cong, close to Fairhill House.
