The Merry Ploughboy opened its doors way back in the 1730's and today is one of the best places in Dublin to experience the best of Irish culture and hospitality.
Although close to Dublin city, the family run pub is in a semi rural setting and as well as regular live sessions there is a very popular Traditional Night and an excellent menu available.
There are informal traditional music sessions every Friday & Saturday, with local and visiting musicians playing to an audience of both regular customers and visitors.
The ever popular Merry Ploughboy's Traditional Nights is a great night out and a really memorable experience. It combines live music, song and dance with a delicious banquet featuring the very best of fresh Irish food.
During the evening resident group the Merry Ploughboys play jigs and reels,rousing ballads and heartbreaking emigrants songs and you'll also have a chance to see a troop of all Ireland and World championship dancers perform a specially commissioned show.
