Ballydehob Jazz Festival

Last year saw the debut of a second Jazz Festival in Co Cork, this time well away from the city in the beautiful West Cork village of Ballydehob. While it may not have the sheer scale of the October festival, it was a huge success and returns in 2009 with a programme that has something for all lovers of Jazz.
This is a small and friendly festival in a small and friendly town, and even if you are not a major Jazz fan is worth getting along to if you are in Ireland at the time.
The headline act in 2009 was US pianist Joe Davidian, and the Joe Davidian Trio, who played to a packed house and standing ovations. Others performing included Munster Funk, The Snack Quartet, Ralf Cetto Trio, Norman Collins and Molly O’Mahony and The Fire Flies.
The line up for 2010 has yet to be announced. Keep an eye on the website.
