Cat Laughs Comedy Festival

Each Year Irish comedians are joined by a huge international line-up in what has become one of the most popular and well attended festivals in Ireland.

This has grown into one of Europe’s best and most popular comedy festivals - the fact that no shows are recorded and there are no competitions means the performers are relaxed, there for the fun and usually on top form. Kilkenny has become accustomed to seeing world renowned faces from the world of comedy relax and enjoy attending this festival just as much as performing in it.

There are lots of other events in town during the festival but with comedy shows from lunchtime to after midnight spread over more than a dozen venues you may not get to see much of them.

Details of the 2012 event will be released in March 2012, see the website for details. Events take place in many venues thoughout the city, but the two primary venues are the Set Theatre in John St and the Watergate Theatre in Parliament St.
