Belfast Film Festival 2010

A rapidly growing and increasingly popular film festival with films showing and events taking place in many venues around Belfast city including the Strand Cinema, the Waterfront Hall, the Culturlann Centre, the John Hewitt Bar and Queen’s University Film Theatre.
In its eleven years of existence it has grown from being a part of the West Belfast Community Festival in to a major international event attracting large audiences, and from a week to two weeks in duration.
Belfast Film Festival has always had a focus on films with a socio-political theme, and as well as brining a wide range of full length and short films under this umbrella to Belfast has speakers and seminars focusing on a selected theme each year.
Themes in the past have included Reconciliation and Divided Societies; Human Rights and Film; Racism, Community and Film and Societies in Transition: Policing for the People.
The 2010 programme has yet to be announced, but the website will have details in due course.
