Kilkenny Celtic Festival
The Kilkenny Celtic Festival aims to foster an appreciation of all things Celtic, language, song, music, dance, sport and even food.
Participants will enjoy a varied programme which includes formal and informal musical concerts, workshops in music, singing and dance, boating activities on the River Nore, a camogie competition and and street entertainment with visiting artists.
Among those who will be in Kilkenny for the weekend are Liadan, theInternationally renowned Irish Traditional Group, the Irish Youth Harp Orchestra and Nell Ní Chróinín, an award winning Sean nós singer. A childrens storytelling event in Butler House will feature stories from Celtic myth and legend.

Compared to other Kilkenny festivals this is a pretty low key event and you’ll probably need to seek events out rather than just happening upon them if you are to get the best of what’s on offer. Good value season tickets are available.
