Irish Hot Air Balloon Championships
There can be few sites as spectacular as graceful hot air balloons quitely floating past the clouds, and when you add a location like Birr Castle, you have the perfect backdrop. This is an event not just for balloon enthusiasts, but for everyone – and perhaps especially for photographers.
This years event will include 38 balloons from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, USA and of course Ireland. If you can’t get along in person you can view a live stream of the event.
It is all, of course, weather dependent, but at least in Birr Castle there is a venue where there is lots to do and see no matter what the weather.
