Kinsale Arts Week
Posted in: Festivals | What's On in Ireland
The programme at Kinsale features local, national and international work including visual art, theatre, music, literature, film, dance, architecture, and family entertainment. Community involvement is at the fore, with local artists showcasing their work and many arts projects reaching their conclusion in time for each year’s festival.
Events take place not just inside, but in the harbour, on the streets and even in the boats that are so central to life in Kinsale.
The headline performers for 2010, the sixth year of the festival, have yet to be announced, but the ever popular series of concerts at the fabulous location of Charles Fort will return.
There will also be comedy, music, theatre as well as visual arts and literary events.
It’s Kinsale, so naturally there will be food events and lots of good things to eat all week.
Childen are very well catered for with an extensive programme of dedicated events, including a Pirate Treasure Hunt, a Mr Men party and a series of workshops which include Circus skills, bronze sculpture, puppet making and sand sculpture.
