Oxegen

It’s the event that for many is the high point of the year and which parents dread, Oxegen is back!
Now a three day event, Oxygen is Ireland’s largest music festival by some margin and has become the highlight of Summer for many, with a huge line-up of bands plus the chance to get muddy and sleep (or not) in a tent. It’s a kind of an Irish Glastonbury, but with fewer hippies!
There are several stages, so it can be something of a time-juggling act to get to see all the bands on your personal favourites list.
It’s a biggie and unmissable if you are the right age – which is strictly over-17 with the organisers pledging total enforcement each year. Mmm. Yes. In reality if you are much over 20 you’re going to feel ancient here.
The 2009 line up was as strong as ever, with with Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol, Blur and The Killers headlining.
It’s a lot of music packed into the three days and lots of choices to make.
The line up for 2010 has yet to be announced, but that didn’t stop a large number of advance tickets, released at the end of 2009 being snapped up in a matter of hours. If you want one at the next ticket release it would be a good idea to follow the Facebook page for advance notice.
