The festival celebrates its fiftieth year with a return to its newly renovated home, Waterford’s Theatre Royal.

An annual feast for those who love choral music, this festival brings highly rated choirs from all over the world to Cork each year.

The central event is a competition for adult choirs, but there are many other competitions, gala concerts and social events on the programme also. Standards are extremely high – it’s well worth making a special effort to get to at least one event.

West Cork Chamber Music Festival

This festival held annually in Bantry offers classical music lovers a varied and packed programme of concerts and recitals from popular works to those less well known.

Doing the whole festival is not for the faint hearted – there are more than 35 events over 9 days – but anyone in the area can just dip in and out for one or two events.
