Sometimes you want a special meal, great food, wonderful ambiance, all the trimmings. You know you’ll pay, but that’s ok, it’s worth it.
Other times you just want food. And you want it now. Recently while passing through Dungarvan we were pointed to a restaurant that completely understands this and delivers quality as well. A rare gem.

Ireland in the same way as a tourist. But a recent trip to Dublin gave me the chance to do just that.
Riding the hop-on, hop-off tour buses around the city is probably something few Dubliners ever do, but it was fun and as well I as know the city I grew up in, even I learned some new things from the commentary.

As more and more countries ban cigarette smoking in public buildings, it’s interesting to look back at the effect the ban has had in Ireland.
I think everyone agrees its been a very good thing, but there have been some surprising changes in the way people socialise as a result.

In every part of the world where to which tourists travel in numbers, it’s normal that at the height of the season relationships between local and visitor can occasionally become a little fraught.
Mostly this is because overworked people forget their manners. But the visitors are not always innocent parties, and can occasionally provoke their hosts beyond endurance!

Hotels with elaborate and luxurious spas are popping up all over Ireland. They are all fighting for the same fairly narrow market, and it’s getting bloody.
At the moment it’s not hard to simply win a stay in one of these places, but even if you don’t manage that, prices are being slashed to the bone and a little affordable luxury is never a bad thing!
