Mount Juliet Golf Club
Location: Co Kilkenny, Parkland Course

Immaculately maintained parkland course with excellent facilities more in the style of an American than a typical Irish course, this was the location of several Irish Open championships and more recently the 2004 American Express Championship. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course is one of rolling fairways with lots of water hazards and perfect (fast) putting surfaces.
Visitors can be lulled into a false sense of security after the relatively striaghtforward opening holes, but the short 3rd with a tee shot (hopefully!) over water and par four 4th hole with a tight tree lined fairway and a green with devilishly placed water to the right will soon wakes them up again!
The second nine starts with a sequence of three very tough but fair holes while the last two, which have undone many a good day's work, are a real test. The par 5 17th has a lake to the left almost all the way and high trees on either side, requires very accurate shooting, while the 18th is also bordered by water and is as tricky a par 4 as you will find anywhere.
There are excellent clubhouse facilities and the Hunters Yard restaurant and bar is a perfect place to mull over the days play.
. Green Fees: €85 - €185. Discounts for groups.
