Temple Bar Trad
Note: Details below refer to the previous event. Updated information for this year will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
2009 will be the fourth year of Temple Bar Trad, a celebration of traditional music and culture which takes place in pubs and theatres and on the street in the Temple Bar area of Dublin.
Among the headline musicians who appeared in 2008 were well known accordionist Jackie Daly, fiddlers Tommy & Siobhán Peoples, singer Susan McKeown and the multi-talented sisters Breda & Claire Keville.
Gráda, a band well known on the folk music festival circuit thoughout Europe, returned to play their home town, while Mozaik, a great band featuring the legendary Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, took centre stage on the Sunday night concert.
Each yeas as well as staging a number of major events there are sessions in all the pubs in Temple Bar and no shortage of craic!
Children are not forgotten with concerts and storytelling taking place daily at the ARK Children's Arts Centre.
The full programme for 2009 has yet to be announced.
