Music in Great Irish Houses
Classical music performed in some of the most beautiful buildings of Ireland, mostly in the East but with some performances in Dromland Castle in Co Clare. the Cork School of Music and in Stormont in Belfast.
Other venues include Killruddery House, Castletown House, Beaulieu House, the National Gallery and Kings Inns.
Performers are invariably of a high standard, and offer those attending the unique opportunity of hearing chamber music in the sort of location it was composed for.
The opening event of 2008 takes place in Cork, with the British Belcea Quartet in a programme that includes Schubert's "Rosamunde". It's a programme full of highlights, others of which include the Badke Quartet at Srormont Castle, Steven Doane's Festival Cello Octet at Kilruddery (an intriqueing prospect), Measha Brueggergosman, soprano, and Roger Vignoles, piano, at Dromoland Castle.
A series of masterclasses in piano, cello and chamber music will be given by a number of those performing in 2008.
The combination of top quality chamber music and gracious settings make these very special events, but also mean that tickets are limited, so book early.
