Gaze: the Dublin Gay & Lesbian Film Festival
This year the Dublin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival has a new image, a new website and a new name: Gaze. It's been taking place annually for 15 years, but is essentially being relaunched in 2008.
Based at the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar, the festival shows a seried of short and feature length films are in general being screened here for the first time in Ireland.
While the programme has not yet been announced an early confirmation is a screening of Otto; or, Up with Dead People, a new offering from cult film-maker Bruce la Bruce.
GAZE is a nominating festival for the Iris Prize for the Best International Gay and Lesbian Short Film, and a series of shorts (ranging from 5 to 15 minutes each in length) will be shown on August 5th.
