West Cork Motor Rally 2009

Image by mozzercorkThe sleepy roads of West Cork will come alive to the roar of engines as the 31th annual West Cork Motor Rally gets into gear (ouch!) on St Patrick's Weekend 2009.
There will be 8 stages each day over a total of some 160 miles of narrow, twisting and undulating roads, a challange for the drivers and great spectacle for those watching. The activity is centred on Clonakilty and there is always a lively and very friendly social side to this rally. Much of the night time action will be in the Quality Hotel, who are once again sponsors of the event.
The Bones O’Connor Modified Challenge, named for a local man who has been a driving force (ouch again!) behind the rally since its inception, was a great success in previous years and should be back this year. Crews in cars from classes 9-15 will be competing vigorously to take the crown.
