Tedfest
Note: Details below refer to the previous event. Updated information for this year will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
This festival on Aran Mór Island will either completely baffle you or make you want to up sticks and head for 'Craggy Island" for a few days of completely off the wall madness!
The festival celebrates (if that is the right word!) the cult TV series Father Ted, and as anyone familiar with it will know that means madness, mayhem and total chaos are not just inevitable but desirable.
Planned events (though who knows what will actually happen) include a Crazy Golf competition, the Father Jack Cocktail evening, ludo aerobics and a disco with Father Elvis and DJ Benny Cake. Oh, and the Inis Mór Lovely Girls Competition!
The event is limited to just 100 people - knowing the words of the famous and much loved Father Ted composition "My Lovely Horse" and an undying love of tea and sandwiches are required!
In previous years tickets have been oversubscribed many times with lucky attendees being selected by lottery. So the best you can do is to keep an eye on the website and look out for the opening of bookings for the 2009 festival.
You know you want to. Go on, go on, go on!
