Pan Celtic Arts Festival
While this is primarily a competitive festival, with competitions for singers, musicians, dancers, song writers and pipe bands, there are also many non-competitive and informal events to entertain those not immediately involved in competitions.
There will be competitors and visitors from six Celtic nations in attendance - Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Brittany and Ireland and events include traditional folk music, Celtic rock and pop, dancing, pipe band performances, choral music and a colourful street parade
At night the place to be Club na Féile, the festival club, which is hosted each night by a different country, with the music, song and dance of that nation at the core of the evenings fun.
The 2008 festival takes place in Donegal Town in Co Donegal, a great place to visit at any time but a very special one during this week. This is a must on the itinerary of any visitor to Ireland who has a real interest in traditional and Celtic arts - and great fun for anyone who happens to be in the area.
