Ballet Ireland tour this Spring with perennial favourite Die Fledermaus, a lively comedy with music by Johann Strauss.
Die Fledermaus (or 'the bat') tells a tale of romance and intrigue about Gabriel von Eisenstein, married to Roaslinde but not detered by that in his dalliances with other ladies. Dr Falke, the bat of the title, doesn't approve and plans a practical joke which neatly turns the tables on him.
Ballet Ireland, under the direction of Viennese choreographer Günther Falusy are Ireland's only professional ballet company and have been forging a strong reputation since their foundation in 1997 by Falusy and Irish dancer Anna Maher.
The Ballet will tour various parts of Ireland, mostly for one night in each location so if you are in Ireland at this time, check the tour schedule to see if they are anywhere near you.
