Bloom, Irish Garden FestivalIn 2007 Dublin had, for the first time, a garden festival to rival those at Chelsea and Hamton Court when Bloom '07 arrived at the Phoenix Park. There were some logistical hitches - mainly caused by the enormous popularity of the event combined with some inclement weather, but the organisers promise that they have sorted any problems out. Now, if only the weather will cooperate!

The location is certainly perfect, right by the visitor centre in the middle of Europe's largest enclosed park it will be easy to get to and there is ample space for participating gardeners to showcase their talents.

The central feature of the festival will be a series of 30 self contained show gardens, designed by some of Ireland top horticultural talents.

There will also be nursery and floral displays and of course the opportunity to buy plants, garden furniture and supplies and anything else you hanker after at the commercial exhibition.

Bloom 2008 introduced a new Health and Wellness Arena and a craft trail offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy live demonstrations by crafts people at work. There was also a cookery demonstration stage featuring some of Ireland’s leading chefs, an Irish artisan food market, a children’s play area and an outdoor entertainment stage.

Goven the success of the previous years and the huge crowds which made their way to the park, we can only assume this this festival will be back, bigger and better, in 2009.
