Surfing Blitz

Described as a celebration of beach culture and love of the ocean, this event will offer a wide range of activities to adults and children, experienced surfers and those who have never - yet! - stood on a board.
There will be a spectacular exhibition of Kite Surfing, an increasingly popular sport which is very exciting to watch, classes and competitions for surfers of all levels, juggling, sand sculpture and sand castle competitions and a myriad of other event for all the family to enjoy.
I'm none to sure what the connection to surfing is, but there will be an exhibition of vintage bicycles also, with a parade of through the streets of Lahinch. A huge beach BBQ and night time musical entertainment are also planned.
This is very much an event which emphasises kicking back and having fun, and its laid back atmosphere makes it a great place to meet up with other visitors and locals and let your hair down. The events take place at Spanish Point, which is in a particularly beautiful part of Co Clare, so it would be easy to integrate this festival with touring the local area.
