Sculpture in Context, DublinPollen Hotspot by Michelle MaherThis annual exhibition is now in its 22nd year and since moving to a new venue in Dublin's Botanic Gardens 6 years ago it has grown to become the largest outdoor sculpture exhibition in Ireland. An open submission event, it challenges artists to respond creatively to a specific location, with the final selecion of work displayed throughout the gardens, glasshouses and in the visitors' centre gallery.

Work by artists from Ireland and abroad in a variety of materials including ceramic, wood, bronze, stone and fabric, will be on display, often appearing in the most unexpected places. Awards presented at the end of the exhibition include one for the most popular sculpture as voted for by the public and many of the pieces are for sale.

Children react with great delignt to the sculpture, relishing the 'hunt' for the next surprise. This event is highly recommended to any visitors in Dublin in the Autumn - the Botanic Gardens are a joy to visit at any time, and the exhibition adds an additional dimension that makes them a must.
