Tulca - Season of Visual Arts
Note: Details below refer to the previous event. Updated information for this year will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
2008 will be the seventh year of the Tulca Festival, one of many in a crowded Galway festival calendar this year.
The word 'Tulca' means a wave, flood or deluge, and this season of visual arts, the result of a coming together of eight arts organisations, aime to present a flood of visual art for engage and inspire the whole Galway and West of Ireland community.
Through a varied programme of visial arts projects the intention is to allow people to become active participants in their visual culture and to put Galway on the map as a destination in the visual arts calendar.
The programme is designed to present visual art that works with the city’s structure, through the use of site-specific projects and the establishment of unique venues that would not normally be gallery spaces and also by means of time based and interactive events.
