Ideal Homes Exhibition
The Ideal Homes Exhibition has been a fixture at the RDS in Ballsbridge for many years, but over the last decade the housing boom in Ireland has seen to grow to become a massive event, with something of interest to anyone who lives in a house or apartment - which means pretty much everyone!!
It will be interesting though to see how the event reponds to the current downturn in the housing market and whether or not it will continue to draw the crowds as it has in the last number of years.
From home building, furnishing and interior design, to sustainable living and cutting edge home technology, it's all there. Although attended by just about everyone in the trade it is mainly aimed at the general public.
A central attraction is always a fully built and furnished showhouse. In 2008, Green Homes will build a full size, fully-fitted and landscaped two-story house to demonstrate how the use of renewable resources and a high level of insulation can reduce your carbon footprint and heating costs to a fraction of that for conventional homes.
The programme also includes a very wide range of seminars with excellent speakers, which are free to attend.
