Irish Steel Guitar Festival
A real treat for afficionados of the steel guitar, who are not that well served in Ireland generally, this festival is based in 2008 around the Bettystown Court Hotel in Bettystown, which puts it within easy reach of Dublin and much of the East of the country. It's well worth going along even for one night if you cannot make the whole thing.
While the full 2008 programme is still being worked on, the always brilliant and often hilarious Joe Wright and Canadian Al Brisco have been confirmed as this year's featured players on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October.
Joe Wright will also host a seminar on Monday 13th October which given his experience and reputation as a teacher is bound to be popular and book out quickly.
Events kick off at 11am each day and continue late into the night. This really is a feast for lovers of steel guitar and event well worth traveling specially for.
