Kinsale International Gourmet Festival
For lovers of good food there is never a bad time to visit Kinsale, but this October weekend has to be one of the best times to be there. It's a packed programme of foodie events all day long, including tastings, dinners, parties and of course music and entertainment.
Participating Restaurants include Restaurant d,Antibes, Blue Haven, Captains Table, Crackpots, Jim Edwards, Man Friday, Savannah Waterfront Restaurant, Spinnaker, Toddies and White Lady and each one will have special festival menus during the weekend. Tickets for the Mad Hatter's event, a culinary perambulation around all these restaurants in one night, sell out very fast, so if you are interested get in there quickly.
The Festival Club at Acton's Hotel is the social focus of the week, with good company, entertainment and great conversation continueing well into the wee small hours.
Most of the town's hotels and guesthouses have special packages available for the festival, but these book out fast, as do the various special events over the weekend, so get in there early.
For those who simply can't eat another thing there will be live music and other entertainment in Kinsale's pubs thoughout the weekend.
