Feile Frank McGann 2008
Féile Frank Mc Gann was established in honour of one of Ireland's best loved traditional Irish musicians who sadly passed away in 2002.
Frank Mc Gann was renowned not only for his own virtuosity but for his committment to encouraging and helping young musicians.
It's a festival of Irish traditional music, song and dance, with many of the countries most talented and best known musicians coming to Strokestown in Co Roscommon to perform and to honour the memory of a mentor.
In 2008 trad superstars 4 Men and a Dog and The Mulcahy Family will perform at the headline concert on Saturday, while on Friday night Button Accordion player, James Keane from the US will perform at a very special recital in Strokestown Park House, held by the fireside and with complimentary wine.
On Sunday afternoon the very popular Kitchen Sessions at Park House will include performances by Galway musicians Mary Bergin, Dearbhaill Standun and Kathleen Loughnane, collectively known as Dordàn.
The Ceile Mor will be accompanied by the unbeatable Kilfenora Ceili Band.
This is just a taster of the top acts - the place will be full of musicians thoughout the festival with many organised and impromtu sessions taking place in local venues.
