Dingle Film Festival
Dingle is a marvellous place to visit at any time, but for movie buffs the best time to go is in September. The Film Festival combines screenings and related events with hotly contested competitions, and is aimed not just at those who are working in the industry or are serious afficionados, but at a general audience also.
Gregory Peck is a son of Dingle, his grandmother Katherine Ashe was born there and so it will be something of a homecoming for his daughter. Cecilia Peck wll give a public interview about her fathers Kerry roots and his long and illustrious screen career. There will also be a special screening of the film, In Conversation with Gregory Peck, which she produced and which was directed by 2 time Oscar winner Barbara Kopple.
As well as the competition films there are workshops, masterclasses and special showings for children.
The pubs in and around Dingle will be great places to socialise during the festival, with music sessions and other entertainment unlikely to be in short supply!
