Punchestown Racing Festival 2009
Note: Details below refer to the previous event. Updated information for this year will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
Very much a family affair (the local schools even take a day off so students can attend) Punchestown Racing Festival is one of Ireland's most enjoyable and friendly racing occasions.
There will be music and entertainment, there are ample restaurants and bars to cater for the crowds and the racing is always excellent.
The main events are the Champion Chase (22nd), the Gold Cup (23rd) and the Champion Hurdle (25th) but all races are hotly contested as old scores from the previous month's Cheltenham Festival are settled.
Punchestown is within easy reach of Dublin and is just a few miles from the M7.
