Fairyhouse Easter Racing Festival 2009
The Easter Racing festival at Fairyhouse is a big event in the Irish racing calendar and a regular annual outing for families over the Easter weekend. It takes place earlier than usual in 2008, due to Easter falling particularly early.
The Irish Grand National, on the 14th, is the major event on the card and on the Irish steeplechasing calendar and will see the cream of British and Irish steeplechasers battling it out over stiff fences.
This is a great family day out, with lots of entertainment laid on for kids especially to keep them occupied while their parents study the form. The Power's Gold Cup the previous day and the Menollly Home Hurdle on the last day of the festival are other featured races.
It is always very crowded, so if you are planning to attend leave early and get there well before the first race.
