Photo by pierofixEvery decent size town in Ireland has a cinema, usually with multiple screens, and in cities you will have a good choice of venues. Most show major international movie titles, generally within a few weeks of their US release.
For independent movies and international cinema, the Irish Film Institute in Dublin is the best venue. If the film showing is an unclassified one you must become a member, but the charge is nominal.
An unusual way to see a movie is in a mobile cinema, a really different and fun experience. CineMobile travels to places where there is no local cinema, showing a variety of movies over a 2-3 day stay in each location - look out for them!
