Garden Events in Ireland 2007 & 2008
Ireland is fortunate to have had some of the foremost gardeners and garden designers of the last 200 years involved in creating wonderful gardens, very often around great houses and castles, and recently a good number of these have been restored and are open to the public.
However widespread interest in gardening is a fairly recent phenomenon and it is only in the past decade or so that there have been large audiences, rather than small groups of enthusiasts, happy to attend garden events and festivals. Both the number and the quality of these are on the rise and the crowds visiting them are huge - gardening in Ireland has really taken off.
If you time your visit to Ireland to coincide with a festival you will be rewarded not only by the varied and beautiful gardens and exhibits but by meeting with like-minded Irish people in a friendly and relaxed setting.
