Literary Festivals and Events in Ireland 2007 & 2008
Book fairs, book festivals and other literary themed events are very popular in Ireland and are well attended by both visitors and locals.
Most of the festivals are lively affairs, catering for all who love books, not just writers and academics. They generally have excellent events for children and usually will include a selling fair where you can browse though interesting and rare volumes not easily found in the high street.
Outside of the major calendar dates listed here there will be smaller local events in public libraries which are often worth seeking out, esepcially for children. Bookshops too are frequently hosts to readings or book signings are there is at least one and often several in all larger towns and cities.
