Almost every town will have a least one venue, often a pub, which has regular live gigs, larger towns and cities have several and Dublin in particular has a very active and varied live music scene.
Almost all tickets for larger events and many for smaller ones can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.
The best printed source for listings is Hot Press - the website wll keep you well up to date on all upcoming gigs and the magazine is available in newsagents nationwide.
