The Visual Arts in Ireland 2007 & 2008

Visual Arts Exhibition in IrelandPhoto by Jett LoeThere is hardly a town in Ireland that does not have an art gallery or an artist's studio which is open to visitors, and several have collections of high standing internationally.

The major galleries are listed on our Art Galleries in Ireland page, others to look out for around the country are the Butler Gallery in Kilkenny, Limerick City Gallery,  Sligo Gallery and the Kenny Gallery in Galway.

There are a growing number of commercial art galleries in Ireland and also many artists studios which are open to the public - look out for signposts as you drive around Ireland.

Almost all of Ireland's many arts festivals include a stong visual arts programme and often have exhibitions by local artists or students where interesting work can be bought relatively inexpensively.
