Dublin hotel for June 2-3day stay

Asked by: peter hennigan

Planning a 10 day June 09 trip to Ireland. Flying into Dublin and out of Shannon. Want to start with 2-3days in Dublin. Family of five with 3 \’adult\’ children (ages 18, 21, 22).

Any suggestions on hotel – looking for something in city center near Temple Bar area, etc. Looking for a decent hotel with some local flavor.

Thx.

    Peter,

You have many options for staying in Dublin and now is a good time to call around to bargain for rooms.  Hotels are cutting their rtes left and right so even a pricey place you skipped over before may now be within reach.  I would call around in person though rather than email.  You are more likely to get a better/positive response.

A few places you may want to consider:
http://www.clontarfcastle.ie/ – Clontarf Castle is not in the area you mentioned, it’s actually a bit north of the city but it’s a pretty cool place to stay.

http://dublin.radissonsas.com/ – Radisson SAS in Dublin is in a really good spot, walkable distance but off the beaten path; lovely hotel.

Jury’s is usually a good bet as it’s so centrally located - http://dublinhotels.jurysinns.com/jurysinn_christchurch

BTW, the Temple Bar area is not the best place to stay as it’s a really noisy area with lots of hen/stag parties, clubs with loud music, etc.  Unless you are all good sleepers or can be sure to get rooms not on the street or Bar area you may want to reconsider hotels there.

    Hope this helps!

    Safe travels,
