Kinnity, Co Offaly
If you are looking for a hotel clone, this is not it. If on the other hand you want to experience life as a guest in a beautifully restored Victorian country house in a lovely part of the country, this is the place to do it.
Room are gracious and old world in decor, all have private bathrooms (one with a jacuzzi) but there are few other hotel-style facilities.
Instead tea and coffee are always available to guests by the turf fire in the living room, often with freshly baked scones and home-made jam to accommpany them. Guests are encouraged to meet and get to know each other and breakfast is a convivial meal served at a communal table.
You really will feel like a private family guest here.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.

stayed at the self catering cottage owned by ardmore house - not
recommended. needed cleaning, loo was cracked, jumble of furniture in
bedrooms like extra headboard stacked against wall. location pretty - but
no hospitality from main house. shame.
