This is not cheap accommodation for what is essentially an upmarket bed and breakfast but it is a very special place to stay. Located in the former dowager house of Kilkenny Castle, the rooms are unusually large, especially the family rooms, and all individually and well decorated.
An excellent breakfast with homebaked breads and a varied menu is served a short stroll away through the gardens in the converted castle stableyard.
The house is elegant and beautiful, with its history worn lightly but very much in evidence, though at times some of the more modern decoration jars slightly.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
