As its name suggests the main attraction here is the internationally acclaimed golf course in a wonderful location overlooking Lough Ree, but do not be put off if you are a non-golfer - this is a family run hotel with plenty for you too.
Rooms are large, clean and comfortable, if a little ordinary, and the family-run difference is evident in the friendliness of the service and the attention to detail.
The decor in the public areas is also a little ho-hum - it is pleasant, clean and well kept but somehow has no real personality. However the service is top notch in both bars and restaurant and the food is of a consistently high standard.
Outside the Summer season this is a popular place for weddings so at weekends things can get a little noisy.
There is a private jetty which many cruisers use to stop off here and private cruises can be arranged. A good place.

breakfast.
