This is a restaurant with (very good) rooms and is popular with those coming to enjoy the excellent fishing in the area, which is a lovely but very little visited part of Ireland. A cold room, drying room and storage facilites are available for fisherfolk and all guests have access to a laundry (more places should have one of these!)
The rooms are large and clean, well decorated and equipped to hotel standard and all have private bathrooms with good showers. There is one executive suite which is extra large and comes with a hydrotherapy bath.
Breakfast is the full works, freshly prepared and on a fine day it can be taken outdoors in a pleasant courtyard.
Downstairs the Manse Restaurant serves a menu which is strong on fish but has a good choice including several vegetarian options. It's not cutting edge food, but it is well prepared using good ingredients and is very good value.
There is a special lunch menu and the place is packed with locals at lunchtime, always a good sign. There is also a cafe which serves snacks and lighter meals and has a lovely turf fire burning - very welcome on nippy days.
This is a good value place to stay, and if you are in a position to avail of the package deals for 2-3 day stays including dinner then it is exceptional value.

breakfast.
