Located at the edge of the city in a lovely Victorian house, Lacken House has always been better known for its award winning restaurant than its accommodation. However it is a lovely and friendly place to stay, with guests returning regularly - always a good sign.
There are well decorated bedrooms with a good level of facilites and good private bathrooms, though some of the bedrooms are on the small side. Largre superior rooms with whirlpool baths are worth upgrading to.
As you would expect breakfast is top notch, with several unusual choices and fresh fruit and fish to the fore.
Do yourself a favour and book a gourmet night, which includes dinner in the price. This is a good place for wine lovers too, with a particularly interesting and varied list.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
