Portrush, Co Antrim

In a lovely rural location, this 17th century house is at the heart of a working farm and riding centre. While it has been much added to and altered over the years, you can still see traces of the old Plantation House in which Northern Ireland's first Presbyterian Minister, Rev. Gabriel Cornwall, lived.

The hospitality is country style too, relaxed, easy-going and very friendly. Large well furnished guest rooms all have private bathrooms and there is a feeling of spaciousness and generosity throughout. The owner has deservedly won awards for her amazing breakfasts, which always include delicious home-made scones and bread.

It would be possible if you are a horse lover to just stay here and never leave, the riding centre on the premises is an excellent one and there are lovely places to ride including a challanging cross country course. There is also a games room to amuse you in between times.

But Maddybenny is very convenient for touring the North Antrim coast and is close to many golf courses, espcially Royal Portrush.

As well as in the main house there is excellent self-catering accommodation available in a number of cottages in the grounds.
