A two star hotel that punches well above it's weight right in the centre of the very pretty village of Mountshannon, just minutes from the harbour.
There are just 14 rooms, each very comfortable and well decorated and with good sized bathrooms. The restaurant overlooking the nicely kept garden is excellent, with local produce to the fore and an especially good seafood menu.
The bar is cosy, traditional and filled not just with hotel guests but local and passing visitors from the cruisers plying the nearby Shannon River.
At weekends it can be a little noisy and chaotic as there is a large function room at the hotel which is very popular for weddings. Ask for a room well away from the function area.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
