Leeson Close, Dublin 2
Those who regularly stay there hate seeing this place written about, it's a secret they would rather keep for themselves! Although practically in the city centre this striking modern house (it was originally designed by architect Sam Stephenson as his own home) is tucked away in a quiet area and guests instantly feel they have escaped the hustle and bustle of the city when they arrive back here.
The rooms are very well decorated and have good, pretty much hotel standard, facilities. There is a friendly welcome and a large and delicious breakfast, with a good deal of choice, is served in the morning.
The house, while modern, is now over 40 years old and is in places showing its age. Also some rooms are on the small side. However the excellent service, the location and the friendliness of the owners more than balance out any potential downsides.
Book early, it is deservedly popular.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
