It's a well known chain of hotels so you know pretty much what to expect and that's what you get.
The hotel makes good use of its excellent location, right in the heart of town by the River Shannon, with a wonderful deck, complete with comfortable furniture and (essential!) patio heaters, overlooking the marina.
The bedrooms are decent sized, well furnished and have nice bathrooms. Family suites are roomy enough to ensure that there really is space for more than 2 adults and a tiny baby, however the fact that children sleep in what doubles as a living area is a slight drawback.
There is a pool of quite decent size in the leisure area which children can use during the day time and a good range of kid's movies are available on DVD to keep them occupied in the bedroom.
The public areas are impressive, the restaurant and bar are good and it is a very reliable place to stay. Expect tour buses to stop here so it can be quite crowded with touring parties.
Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with
breakfast.
