The riverside location overlooking Kilkenny Castle and in the heart of town is pretty hard to beat and this modern purpose built hotel offers really good value.

The rooms are good if fairly standard, all well decorated, with good bathrooms and the usual facilities.

The restaurant serves excellent food and the very nice bar has a good lunch menu - in summer you can eat on the terrace with the castle towering above you and the River Nore flowing by below, very enjoyable.

There are almost always competitively priced special packages available combining 2-3 night's accommodation with dinner on 1-2 nights and these are well worth checking out.

Rates guides are per room for 2 people, usually with breakfast.

Stayed in this hotel 2 years ago for my wedding anniversary and it was the best weekend. The hotel was beautiful and looked like a 5 star hotel would definitely go back for a weekend if another special offer came up.
